How Long Does Mobile Detailing Take?

Realistic timing for each service so you can plan the appointment.

Knowing the timing matters when the car is being worked on at your home or office. Here are realistic ranges rather than optimistic ones.

Vehicle size and condition shift these numbers, sometimes considerably.

Typical durations

  • Maintenance hand wash: 60-90 minutes
  • Interior vacuum and refresh: 45-75 minutes
  • Interior detail with extraction: 2.5-4 hours
  • Full interior and exterior detail: 3-5 hours
  • One-step machine polish: 5-7 hours
  • Multi-stage correction: one to two full days
  • Ceramic coating including prep: one to two days, plus cure time
  • Headlight restoration: 60-90 minutes

What extends an appointment

Heavy pet hair, ground-in stains, extensive sap or dropping etching, and larger vehicles all add time. So does a location that requires moving the vehicle or long hose runs from the van.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be present for the whole appointment?

Can a coating be done in one visit?

Application yes, but the vehicle needs to stay dry during the cure window afterward, which we will explain when scheduling.
