Wheel and Tire Cleaning
Brake dust, road film, and old dressing removed from faces, barrels, and arches.
Wheels are the dirtiest part of any car, and in a city full of hills they get worse. Steep descents from Twin Peaks, Russian Hill, or Portola mean constant braking, and that brake dust bonds to the wheel finish under heat.
Left alone, hot metallic particles embed into the clear coat on the wheel face and pit it permanently.

What the service covers
- Dedicated wheel cleaner with dwell time rather than aggressive scrubbing
- Iron fallout remover for bonded brake dust
- Faces, spokes, lug areas, and barrels as far as access allows
- Tire sidewalls scrubbed to remove old browning dressing
- Wheel arches and inner fender liners rinsed
- Dressing applied to a satin finish, not a greasy shine
Finish types
Polished, matte, powder-coated, and painted wheels all have different tolerances. We check the finish before choosing chemistry, and use pH-neutral products on anything delicate.
Frequently asked questions
Can you clean the inside of the wheel barrel?
As far as access allows without removing the wheel. We do not remove wheels as part of a standard detail.
Will pitting come out?
No. Pitting is physical damage to the wheel finish. Cleaning stops it getting worse but cannot reverse it.
